I was a greaser for Gaselees in the early 60s
i started work on the rocott at Tower bridge.
I then worked on the Agama and then the Aboama.
They were great days.We once salvaged 6 barges that were adrif by Gaselees Hulk,i think my share was about £10. |

My Uncle died in the Hawkstone disaster in 1958. His name was Clifford Marks (Sonny to his family). I have been trying to get more information re this event as there is no one of his generation still alive for me ask. This is the first place I have seen that has any detail of the Tug.
Does anyone recognise his name or have any knowledge of the incident? |

| my father worked for gaselee all his life till retirement. As a child my sister and I spent the day on his tug watching queen Elizabeth retuning to london and I believe my dads tug pulled the royal barge up the river Thames. Interested to visit your site and await news on the Wasp. |

| Nice site, I'm a son of lighterman Fred Smith, sadly died over 20 years ago, but still much remembered. I still sail the Thames at every opportunity, great river serving a great city. |
